Paperback, 72 pages

This book charts the conservation of the O’Brien Column, close to the Cliffs, in 2017 by the Follies Trust and delves into the history of Cornelius O’Brien, the man who opened up the Cliffs of Moher to visitors in the nineteenth century. It is a fascinating read with nine essays on everything from the origins of the commemorative column in Ireland to St Bridget’s Well and the chronology of the O’Brien column raised in memory of Cornelius.

This project was also supported by a grant from the Irish Georgian Society.
